Hotel Hubertus, where the club stayed on our January 2013 trip to the resort, enjoys a prime location in the center of Sölden.  Our cozily furnished double rooms have a sitting area, bath or shower, hairdryer, safe, free WiFi, and cable TV.  The lavish breakfast buffet includes bacon and eggs, various fruit juices, sausage specialties, a cheese board, muesli and grains from a wide range of organic products.  The 4-course dinners offer a choice of dishes each day, including a salad bar. Once a week, the kitchen team serves up delicious creations on the starters or desserts buffet.  Typical fare includes Austrian dishes, such as Schnitzel and fish dishes, and game specialties (sometimes locally hunted, as the chef is a keen hunter).  Vegetarian dishes with crispy salads are available on request.  The hotel's newly refurbished spa area includes a Finnish sauna and Turkish steam/inhalation room, solarium and relaxation room.

The listed price is for double occupancy in a standard Double Room, and includes a 5-day adult lift ticket (unusual for European trips!) and round-trip air from Dulles (details below).

Our inventory of single rooms is limited; contact trip leader to confirm availability and cost.

Munich Option - $175
2-night pre-trip extension in Munich
departs U.S. Tuesday, January 7

Two additional nights (Wed &Thur) in the four-star King's Hotel First Class in the heart of Bavaria's Capital, with breakfast.  (The basic trip includes Friday night in the hotel for everyone.)

The hotel has been awarded with four stars by DEHOGA, the German hospitality association.  The combination of traditional luxury and the latest technology is unique in Munich and makes it ideal for our visit to Bavaria’s capital.  Amenities include a cozy canopied bed in every room.  All 86 allergy-friendly rooms provide a sophisticated yet warm and comfortable showcase of neoclassical design and décor.  Classic touches like custom-made wood furnishings and beautiful artwork are balanced by contemporary touches like complimentary Wi-Fi in all public areas and in every room, luxury bath products, Nespresso coffee machines and smartphone docking stations.  The front desk is open around the clock and room service is available to fulfill our wishes from 6 am until midnight.  What more could we want in this cosmopolitan city?

The hotel's American breakfast buffet offers delicious delicacies from the region: "...freshly prepared, healthy and light, full-bodied and stimulating, to suit your taste.  Enjoy fresh Dallmayr coffee, Ronnefeldt tea selection, fresh waffles, organic pastries, a selection of hot items, cereal and yogurt choices."

Wednesday afternoon after arriving at the Munich airport on our overnight flight from Dulles, we'll ride a private bus to the hotel, then spend all day Thursday and Friday exploring the city.  Friday afternoon we'll be joined by the main group arriving from their overnight flight from Dulles.  Saturday morning, after a leisurely breakfast in the hotel, we'll all be bused to the resort for our week of skiing.

At the end of our week, our late return flight affords us the luxury of getting a good night's sleep and enjoying breakfast in the hotel Saturday morning (no bag breakfast!) before busing back to Munich
