    New Orleans Mississippi River Cruise

    May 3 – 13, 2019

Join the PSC for a New Orleans round-trip cruise on the Mississippi River.

Eight-day/seven-night New Orleans cruise, PLUS one night pre-cruise in New Orleans during the final days of the 2019 Jazz and Heritage Festival and two additional nights post-cruise in the French Quarter at the historic Hotel Monteleone!

The cruise includes regionally inspired cuisine, onboard experts and entertainment, visits to historic landmarks and unique shore excursions, and ideal viewing locations aboard the modern paddlewheeler, America, which was launched in 2016.  America embodies a casual ambiance and relaxed atmosphere while providing panoramic views of the passing scenery with only 185 guests.  Round-trip airfare from Washington (most likely DCA) will be finalized in a few months.  All cabins will have private balconies, including a limited number of single rooms.  Four categories of cabins are offered based on availability at time of booking  (AAR, AAL, AAC, and AAM).  Bedding configurations on the cruise are either a King or two Twins.

Following the cruise, we have an opportunity to spend 2 days exploring New Orleans, while staying at the Hotel Monteleone, which is home to the world famous Carousel Bar and is steps away from the wonderful sights, bars, and restaurants of the French Quarter.

ESTIMATE of Trip Pricing (based on cabin selection), including air from Washington, cruise and meals and entertainment, transfers, and 1 night pre-cruise and 2 nights post-cruise in New Orleans.

Cabin on the 2ndDeck (AAR)               $5,500 pp – double occupancy

Cabin on the 3rdDeck (AAL)               $5,875 pp – double occupancy

Cabin on the 4thDeck (AAC)               $6,100 pp – double occupancy

Cabin on the 5thDeck (AAM)              $6,475 pp – double occupancy

Single Balcony Cabin                         $6,900 pp – single occupancy

A Deposit of $600 per person is required to reserve your cabin.

Because the various cabins sell out early, we plan to book the initial group of cabins by the end of May and will request additional cabins for subsequent reservations.  If you are interested in the trip, make your reservation and pay the deposit before the end of May.  If you have any questions, contact the trip leader, Steve Thompson (703-862-6535 cell or stevethompsonva@gmail.com).
