2026 Ski Trips

This coming winter's ski trips are now available for signup.  Here's a brief look at what we're offering; scroll down to check the features of each trip, and to sign up.  Registration was limited to dues-paying PSC members until August 1st.  After that, members of other Blue Ridge Ski Council clubs have been able to sign up:


Epic & Ikon Passes: 

All of our 2026 trips will be going to resorts that honor one of the multi-resort season passes, as indicated above.  You may purchase passes directly from the suppliers (i.e., Epic and IKON), but several of our our tour operators are offering discounts or rebates in conjunction with the trips you might take with the club.  Those offers are described on our Epic & Ikon Pass page.  If you plan to buy a pass, it may behoove you to act quickly as we expect the prices of both passes to go up in the coming weeks and months. You should consider purchasing passes early-on as the costs typically increase before the Memorial Day holiday and periodically as winter gets closer.   Season pass sales typically end in early-to-mid December.


Epic Pass Lift Reservations: 
Lift Reservations will be required to ski and ride at Telluride if you'll be using an Epic Pass.  Telluride is the only Epic Pass destination on our schedule with this requirement.



Ikon Pass Lift Reservations: 
Lift Reservations will be required to ski and ride at three of the club's 2026 Ikon Pass destinations:

  • Jackson Hole
  • Snowmass
  • Deer Valley

The decision whether reservations are required is made at the discretion of each resort.  An Ikon Pass holder can make reservations for themselves and any other Ikon Pass holder in their Ikon Pass account.   The physical Ikon Pass is not needed to make a reservation.  Once you've received a purchase confirmation, you may make reservations within your Ikon Pass account.


Military Passes: 

Military Epic passes and military discounts on IKON passes are only available from the suppliers (but note that special pricing is available on IKON Passes through the Military Sales Program).  Details appear on our Epic & Ikon Pass page.

Blue Ridge Ski Council:  Registration for our 2026 ski trips will be opened beginning August 1, 2025 to members of other ski clubs that are members of the Blue Ridge Ski Council through the "sanctioning" process.  Hint:  To register for a trip you must first "join" the PSC as a no-cost BRSC member and populate your membership profile.

Tips for All Trips

REAL ID Requirement:  As you probably know, after years of delays the REAL ID requirement for domestic air travel finally took effect in May 2025.  Everyone boarding domestic flights will need to present REAL ID-compliant forms of identification.  Standard driver’s licenses and other identification cards will no longer meet federal standards for flying within the U.S.  We suggest you review the Frequently Asked Questions on the TSA's website.  If you don't have a REAL ID compliant driver's license, your passport will substitute.  Absent that, you should still be able to travel, but will likely be subjected to additional screening.

Trip Insurance:  Be sure to review our Trip Insurance page before signing up for a trip, and consider whether to purchase cancellation insurance.  Note that the cancel for any reason option requires that you pay the premium within 14 days of paying your initial deposit on a trip.  The 14-day purchase deadline also applies in order to waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion.

Signup/Registration Tips:  Please take a moment to read the Trip Signup/Registration Tips.  Each individual must be logged-in with their PSC credentials (email address & password) in order to register (sign up) for a trip.  Before signing up, please take a moment to review your profile including your emergency contact information and (if you're thinking of a trip to Canada or Europe) your passport information.  Make sure your first and middle names exactly match your passport (or whatever ID you'll fly with) so your ticket gets issued correctly.  Then click on the trip's Register button if you're ready to sign up!  Your personal information will be pulled from your profile, and then you will need to select options specific to each trip, for example, what type of lodging you prefer (double occupancy or a single room at extra cost) and what type of lift ticket you want.

Important:  If you are registering someone other than yourself, you must log out of your own account and then log in with their credentials.  If you skip this step and register them while signed into your own account, their profile information won't convey into their signup record.  This is necessary even with family (bundle) memberships where you are the bundle administrator.

Wait-Listed Trips:  Click on the button to Join wait list and we may be able to confirm you on the trip if we have a cancellation, after confirming that you still want to go.  We're also sometimes able to expand a trip to accommodate additional skiers.

Trip Invoice & Initial Deposit:  An invoice will be generated for each trip you've registered for.  Each trip includes a payment table listing an initial deposit, one or more interim payments, and a final payment date.  You must pay the initial deposit, and any subsequent interim payments that have or are about to come due, to secure your place on the trip.  Your registration is not confirmed until we receive and acknowledge your deposit.  Payments can be made online with a credit card, or by check.  We can also accept credit card payments at club meetings.

    Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 16th, 7:00 pm at Ft. Myer's Patton Hall (same location as always).  The evening will feature our annual campaign in support of Bread for the City, a local charity that supports the needy in our area.  Please consider bringing your unneeded, gently used winter coats to donate (as well as your checkbooks!).

    Our complimentary holiday menu will include Roasted Top Round of Beef with Roasted Red Potatoes, a Veggie Tray, Mozzarella with Pear Tomatoes, and Christmas Bread Pudding.  A cash bar will be available for the beverages of your choice.

    Trip Payments:  Several of our ski trips have final payments due coincident with the meeting, or before our January 13th meeting, including:

    • Snowmass, Colorado - Final Payment

    • Lake Tahoe, California - Final Payment

    • Copper Mountain, Colorado - Final Payment

    • Madonna Di Campiglio, Italy - Due by January 1st - Final Payment

    There are several ways to make your final payments:

    • You can pay online, before the meeting, directly against your trip invoice.  You can find your invoice(s) from your profile page by selecting your name in the upper right corner of the website when you are logged in.  
    • We can take credit-card payments at the meeting.
    • You can also pay by going to our Partial Payments Page, but you will need to know your remaining balance.
    • If you prefer to pay by check, make it payable to the Pentagon Ski Club and mail it to our treasurer:  Tom Gallagher, 8203 Lazy Point Lane, Lorton, VA 22079.  Indicate which trip, and what skier(s), it is for.  Or give it to your trip leader (or to Tom) at the meeting.

    Registration Required

    We're asking everyone to register to attend.  This will allow us to adjust the catering, and to offer you an opportunity to apply for long-term (1-year) Ft. Myer Visitor Access (see below). You must register by Monday, December 8th, to be sponsored for long-term visitor access.

    If you need to apply for or renew your long-term access, but can't actually come to the meeting, there's an option for that:  Register for the meeting and select the option that you want long-term access sponsorship but won't be at the meeting.

    Bringing a Guest?

    If you plan to come to the meeting with someone else, there are two ways to let us know:

    • If your companion is a club member in their own right, they can log in with their credentials and register for the meeting much as they would do if signing up for a trip.
    • Whether your companion is a club member or not, you can simply include them in your own meeting registration by clicking on the Add guest button before submitting your registration.


    If Your Plans Change

    If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please let us know (ideally by Monday, December 8th) so we can adjust our catering order.  You may do this by:

    • Calling (301-579-2749) or emailing Dave Olsen
    • Cancelling your registration yourself:
      • log into your account
      • click on your name at the top
      • click on My Event Registrations
      • click on your meeting registration
      • click on the Already registered link
      • click on the Cancel registration button

    Entry to Ft. Myer
     REAL ID Requirement

    Ft. Myer has implemented a REAL ID Requirement (click for the full explanation on their website).  Briefly:

    • All occupants of a vehicle should be prepared to present a REAL ID at the security checkpoint.
      • Any occupant who does not have a REAL ID-compliant state driver’s license will need to provide a second form of identification.  We suggest you check Ft. Myer's website for the list of acceptable ID.
    • You should be able to enter the base as normal if you have an active duty, retired, or dependent military ID, or a DoD-issued Common Access Card (CAC).
    • One-Day Access:   You might consider instead applying for a temporary/one-day access online at this website:
      • Select Other and indicate Pentagon Ski Club Meeting as  your Reason for Visit
      • If approved, you'll receive a text notification on your phone that links to your ID credential.  
      • Your application must normally be submitted at least four days in advance of your visit, but might be approved almost instantaneously depending on your footprint in various online systems.

    Long-Term Ft. Myer Visitor Access

    You may recall that we offered an opportunity, when signing up for our September 2025 meeting, to be sponsored for obtaining long-term (1-year) access to Ft. Myer.   We're able to offer that opportunity on a quarterly basis, so here's another chance!   

    • Register for the meeting by Monday, December 8th and indicate your desire for long-term visitor access.
    • We'll include you on the list that we'll send to our contact at Patton Hall (Ms. Helena Hollo) to request her sponsorship.
    • We'll send you an email (on December 9th or soon after) confirming that your name has been forwarded by Ms. Hollo, and that you can go to Ft. Myer's Visitor Control Center (VCC) to apply for your long-term access.
    • Go to the VCC during their normal hours (see below) sometime before the meeting.  We suggest you go well before the meeting to avoid slamming them that afternoon.
    • When you arrive at the VCC, tell them that you're part of the Pentagon Ski Club group that is being sponsored by Ms. Hollo, the Business Manager at Patton Hall.  They'll have pre-printed Installation Access Request Forms with her sponsorship.  All you'll need to do is present your REAL ID-compliant state driver’s license and complete their form with your DOB and SSN.
    • Assuming you pass their vetting process, you should be able to be approved for year-long access during your visit to the VCC.  
    • Note that Ft. Myer is no longer issuing physical visitor passes.  Instead, they will link your access approval to your REAL ID.  Then, they will simply scan your REAL ID at the gate.  If your state driver's license is not REAL ID compliant, they will link to it, but you will still need to provide a second form of identification (discussed above) each time you enter.

      We anticipate the next subsequent opportunity for long-term access sponsorship to be in conjunction with our planned March 10, 2026  meeting.  (Note:  We won't have a meeting in February.)  If you have a pass that hasn't yet expired but will expire before our planned January 13, 2026 meeting, go ahead and request sponsorship now, then go to the VCC once your pass has or is about to expire and they should have your name from the December meeting list. 

      VCC Operating Hours:  Ft. Myer's Visitor Control Center has shortened their hours:

      • They were previously open 0600-1700 Mon-Fri and 1000-1500 Saturday
      • Their current hours (as of September 2025) are 0700-1530 Mon-Fri ONLY.

      Our confirmed block of rooms have two Queen beds.  (Rooms with one King bed may be available, upon request and subject to availability.)  Amenities include a mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, TV/DVD player, cable, complimentary high-speed internet access, and a phone with voicemail and dataport.  The rooms also include a wall safe, humidifier, iron, ironing board, and hairdryer.  Plush terry bathrobes are available. 

      Breakfast Buffet:  Our daily hot breakfast buffet includes (subject to change) scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes or hash browns, bacon and sausage, assorted breakfast pastries, bagels and cream cheese, fresh cut seasonal fruits, yogurt, granola, cereal, oatmeal, fresh brewed regular and decaf coffee, an assortment of herbal teas and chilled orange juice.

      Single Rooms:  Listed price is for double occupancy; add $1,575 for the single supplement if you want a room to yourself.

      Rental Equipment:  Charter Sports, just steps from the Charter Ski-Way, offers a true ski-in ski-out experience.

      Lift Tickets:  Lift tickets are not included in the trip package, as Vail Resorts is no longer offering competitively priced group lift tickets.  Epic Passes, which must be individually purchased (not through the club), provide the best value.

      Epic Passes:  Participants are encouraged to purchase an Epic Pass product of some type early-on.  The following options would cover your skiing for the trip, not only at Beaver Creek but also at Vail.  Prices shown are as of March 2025, but will increase periodically, and will be unavailable after early December:

      • A "full" Epic Pass ($1,051)
      • Military Epic Pass – Active/Retired ($185); Veteran ($601)
      • Epic Day Pass (the non-holiday-rate for an "all resorts" pass) – ($527 for 5 days; $614 for 6 days)
      • Epic Local Pass ($783) - allows 10 days total in The Rockies which includes Vail, Beaver Creek and Whistler
      • Tahoe Local Pass ($665) - allows 5 days total at most of The Rockies including Beaver Creek and Keystone

      Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest ski area, is made up of eight resorts linked via a comprehensive network of modern ski lifts.  This includes internationally famous resorts such as Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens, and other more family-orientated resorts with a charm all of their own such as Les Ménuires, La Tania, Brides-les-Bains, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and Orelle.  50% of the ski area’s runs are considered easy (greens and blues) with the remaining 50% suitable for more proficient skiers (reds and blacks). 

      85% of the pistes are above 1,800m, enabling Les Trois Vallées to guarantee optimum snow conditions from early December to the end of April.  180 ski lifts are available to skiers, which ensure that you’ll spend more time on the slopes than in a queue. 

      These eight resorts also offer a unique range of off-piste and après-ski activities, as well as myriad events and entertainment and a wide choice of restaurants.


      We will stay seven nights at the 4 star Hotel Alpen Ruitor in Meribel Mottaret – the same hotel where we stayed in January 2023.  The hotel offers exclusive and ready-to-go skiing to the largest ski domain in the world.  Features:

      • A Welcome Drink.
      • Breakfast Buffet, daily from 7:30-11:00am
      • Home-Made Pastry Buffet, daily from 3:30-5:30 pm
      • Daily Dinner with starter, main course, cheese buffet, and desert. (Drinks are not included.)

      Single Rooms:  Listed cost is for double occupancy.  A limited number of rooms may be available for single occupancy (est @ $1,235); request when registering and the trip leader will make an adjustment to your invoice if you can be confirmed.

      Epic Pass Holders receive seven unrestricted and consecutive days at Les 3 Vallées ski resorts, as is explained in the Les 3 Vallées Reciprocal Agreement.  Only the "full" Epic Pass is honored.  Epic Day Passes and Military Epic Passes do not include access to Les 3 Vallées.  Collect your free skipass with your Epic Season Pass and ID from one of the Meribel lift ticket offices:

      • MÉRIBEL MOTTARET (near our hotel) – Next to the Tourist Office
      • MÉRIBEL CENTRE (down the hill) – La Chaudanne (under the Tougnète gondola)

      Resort Lift Tickets:  Lift tickets are available as an option during the registration/signup process for skiers who don't have a full Epic Pass.  Prices reflect a modest (approx 10%) discount from the prices at the resort.  We are offering only the 6-day passes, as the cost is the same as for a 5-day pass:

      Four nights (Tue-Sat) in the 4-star Novotel Paris Center Tour Eiffel Hotel in central Paris (confirmed 10/21/2025) with daily buffet breakfast.  Features include:

      • Monday Jan 5 – Depart from Dulles Airport for overnight flight to Paris.
      • Tuesday, Jan 6 – Bus transfer from Paris airport to our hotel.
      • Wednesday, Jan 7 – Half-day sightseeing tour of the main sites in Paris.
      • Thursday/Friday Jan 8/9 – Visit the sights in Paris (on your own).
      • Saturday, Jan 10 – Bus transfer to the train station in Paris for the approx three-hour ride, in First Class coaches, to Chambery.  We'll then be bussed to Meribel (about a 2-hour ride) to join up with the ski-only group who will have arrived in Geneva after their overnight flight from the U.S.

      Trip Insurance:  Emergency medical, evacuation & repatriation insurance (not cancellation insurance) is included.  Note that this is not cancellation coverage and will not provide any relief if you have to cancel from the trip before it begins, whether for medical or other reasons.  You may upgrade your coverage to include cancellation insurance by clicking on this link. It will take you to a flyer describing the options available through Myra Altschuler of Travel Protectors LLC:

      • The Option 2 cancellation plan provides all the benefits of the Basic Plan, but also covers you for cancelling for a number of basic reasons such as illness, injury or death to you or to your traveling companion/roommate.  You must purchase it within 14 days of putting down your very first dollar towards the trip in order to waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion.
      • The Option 3 "Cancel For Any Reason" (CFAR) plan provides all the benefits of the Option 2 plan, but also covers you for cancelling for any non-standard reason, or if you just don’t want to go, but you must purchase it within 14 days of putting down your very first dollar towards the trip.  If you cancel your trip for a non-standard reason, your refund will be limited to 75% of your insured trip cost.
      • If you upgrade your coverage with either option through Myra, prior to making your final payment on the trip, we will credit your trip invoice with the $60 cost of the club-provided Basic Plan.
      • If you purchase your own travel insurance, which includes emergency medical, evacuation & repatriation coverage, and inform your trip leader prior to making your final payment on the trip, we will credit your trip invoice with the $60 cost of the club-provided Basic Plan.  You must present your policy to the trip leader to receive the credit.

      To upgrade to “Cancel for Any Reason” insurance, you must contact Myra Altschuler at  myra@travelprotectors.com within 14 days from the date you write your first deposit check or make your first deposit by credit card.

An extra powder room (half bathroom) in the living area and an extra-large balcony add to the comfort of our stay.       Lift Tickets – Epic Passes:  Epic Passes, which must be individually purchased (not through the club), may provide the best value for your lift tickets – especially if you're planning to ski at more than one "Epic" resort this winter.  It may depend when you buy your pass as prices will increase as winter gets closer. 

      The following options would cover your skiing for the trip.  Prices shown are as of March 2025, but will increase periodically, and will be unavailable after early December:

      • A "full" Epic Pass ($1,051)
      • Regrettably, the Epic Military Passes have no benefits at Telluride.
      • Epic Day Pass (the non-holiday-rate for an "all resorts" pass) – ($527 for 5 days; $614 for 6 days)

      You may purchase Epic Passes directly from Vail Resorts, but we suggest that you visit our Epic & Ikon Pass page to explore the promotional offers that may be available from our tour operators.

      If you'll be using an Epic Pass, we must provide your pass number to the resort so that it counts towards our group lift ticket minimum purchase requirements.  Please enter your Epic Pass number into your membership profile before registering for the trip, or provide it to the trip leader if you purchase (or renew) your pass subsequent to signing up.

      Epic Pass Skiing Reservations REQUIRED:  Epic Pass Holders wishing to ski or ride at Telluride are required to make a reservation in advance.  You may make your reservations by logging into your Epic Pass account.

      Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, located in Teton Village, Wyoming, has 133 named trails including 50% expert, 40% intermediate and 10% beginner. The mountain features 13 lifts including Bridger Gondola and “Big Red”, their World-famous Aerial Tram. 


      With 2500 acres of in-bound terrain and a whopping 4139-foot vertical drop, there’s plenty of room to explore and its unique combination of natural beauty and exciting terrain, Jackson Hole is a top destination for winter sports enthusiasts. 


      Elk Country Inn

      Our trip package includes 7 nights (Sat-Sat) in the Elk Country Inn (hotel rooms) (sleep at 6,311 ft) with daily continental breakfast and a welcome reception. Baggage handling is included.  Note:  Ground transfers are included if the flights you book coordinate with the recommended flights into Jackson (see below).






      Hotel amenities include a fitness room and an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs.  The Inn is just a short drive from Grand Teton National Park and the Jackson Hole Ski Resort, and less than an hour from Yellowstone National Park.

      Daily Mountain Transfers:  Provided by the hotel (three up in the morning and two back in the afternoon).  In addition, the public START bus system runs from Miller park, three blocks from our Hotel, throughout the day.

      Why ski in Banff?  Step foot into this picturesque resort town, nestled between the peaks of Canada’s oldest national park, and the answer is easy:  Skiing in Banff offers up some of the most incredible terrain and remarkable mountain vistas in North America.  Tap into a combined 8,000 acres of world-class skiing in crystal-light snow at the three Banff-area resorts – Mount Norquay, Lake Louise, and Sunshine Village.  With a season that runs from November to May, skiing in Banff offers maximum choice skiing and riding.

      Explore the extensive amenities of the Lodge's bright and spacious rooms.  Each of our QQ Superior Rooms includes a private balcony or patio for enjoying the fresh mountain air and spectacular views of Banff National Park.  King-bedded rooms may be available, upon request and subject to availability.

      • Après Ski Event @ Lake Louise Ski Resort on Tuesday
        Dedicated Lake Louise Ski Day with après ski event from 2:30-4:30pm.  Food Stations will be set up and passed hot and cold appetizers throughout event.  Dedicated Cash bar stations.
      • Nightrise – Farewell Dinner Experience on Thursday

        An incredible ride on the Banff Gondola will take us to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for an exclusive after-dark multimedia experience, created by Moment Factory in partnership with the Stoney Nokoda Nation.  We’ll experience the sounds, lighting, video projections, and other immersive elements that will turn the peaks into something new, and dine atop the mountain as we watch the summit transformed.  The evening includes a buffet dinner, cash bar, band, and private motorcoach transfers to and from the event.

      Ski Rentals:  Equipment rentals are available from Black Tie Ski Rentals, located conveniently in our hotel's lobby.  Discounted package prices are being offered as a signup option at two performance levels (prices are for a 6-day rental):

      • Their Premium Performance Package ($240/$190 with/without boots) is by far their most popular and is designed for skiers of all ability levels; not just experts.  They offer the best skis and boards from the best brands like Atomic, K2, Salomon, Nordica, Blizzard, Head and Faction.  Women’s-specific models are available in this package. 
      • Their less-costly Sport Performance Package ($170/$150 with/without boots) is also available.

      For more information, check out the shop's FAQ page.  If you select rentals as a signup option, your trip leader will collect your statistics (ht, wt, ability) as the trip gets near.  The shop also has helmets available to rent.

        Optional Day Trip to Ski at Kicking Horse:  Participants can sign up for an optional ski day at Kicking Horse – the Champagne Powder Capital of Canada – with stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and easy access to alpine ridges and bowls.  $140 cost (confirmed 7/8/25) includes round-trip bus and adult lift ticket (no senior discount available).  Holders of a full Epic Pass are afforded seven days of skiing at the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, which includes Kicking Horse, and save $60 without the lift ticket.

        • The Option 2 cancellation plan provides all the benefits of the Basic Plan, but also covers you for cancelling for a number of basic reasons such as illness, injury or death to you or to your traveling companion/roommate.  You must purchase it within 14 days of putting down your very first dollar towards the trip in order to waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion.
        • The Option 3 "Cancel For Any Reason" (CFAR) plan provides all the benefits of the Option 2 plan, but also covers you for cancelling for any non-standard reason, or if you just don’t want to go, but you must purchase it within 14 days of putting down your very first dollar towards the trip.  If you cancel your trip for a non-standard reason, your refund will be limited to 75% of your insured trip cost.
        • If you upgrade your coverage with either option through Myra, prior to making your final payment on the trip, we will credit your trip invoice with the $60 cost of the club-provided Basic Plan.

        Ikon Passes – Arapahoe Basin:  Skiers who also hold an IKON Pass may want to ski a day or two at nearby Arapahoe Basin using the free local shuttle service.  Home to some of North America’s highest-elevation and most-challenging terrain in a laid-back, welcoming environment, A-Basin has a long history in Colorado, opening in 1946 as the first ski resort in Summit County.  Full Ikon Passes are good for unlimited skiing at A-Basin, and Ikon Base Pass holders are afforded 5 days.

        Stonebridge Inn

        New Terrain at Aspen Mountain:  Although we're staying at Snowmass, you might want to ski a day at one or more of the other three resorts that are all reachable with the free bus system: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk.  In particular, you might want to check out the new Hero's Area at Aspen Mountain: 

        Hero’s – Aspen Mountain’s first major addition since the Silver Queen Gondola in December of 1985 – offers an additional 153 acres of skiing and riding across the town's mountain.  Since opening in 2023-24, the area has seen continued improvement with added glading, offering an even better skier experience.  Accessible via a high-speed quad, idyllic views and steep chutes and trails await your exploration.  Hero’s increases Aspen Mountain’s lift-served terrain by more than 20 percent. The mix includes nineteen chutes, three explorable gladed areas, and four cut trails.  The project also extended some of our favorite existing runs, including Walsh’s and Kristi, lengthening vertical drop to 1,220 feet and eliminating the hike out at the bottom.  And while expert skiers celebrated the most, the project also added a nice helping of intermediate glades and groomed runs.  The setting is as idyllic as it gets.  Views travel up Independence Pass and down to the valley floor, where the Roaring Fork River carves a meandering line through the snow-blanketed North Star Nature Preserve. It’s a gorgeous section of the mountain, peaceful, and serene

        Ikon Pass Benefits:  If you're planning to ski at more than one "Ikon" resort this winter, an Ikon Pass may be a better value than the available group lift tickets (see below); it may depend when you buy your pass as prices will increase as winter gets closer.

        • A Full Ikon Pass gives you 7 days at Aspen/Snowmass.
        • An Ikon Base Pass has no benefits at Aspen/Snowmass.

        Daily Mountain Transfers:  The club is chartering a bus to shuttle us for five days (every day except our Sundance day – see below) from Zermatt to the Jordanelle Express Gondola in Deer Valley's new East Base.  We'll have two morning departures and two afternoon returns for the 20-minute drive, supplemented by the resort's own 14-passenger van.

        Sundance Ski Day!  Our trip package includes a day trip, on Friday, to Sundance Mountain Resort.  With its rustic simplicity, Sundance is graced by 5000 acres of protected wilderness at the base of 12,000 ft Mt. Timpanogos:  In 1969, Robert Redford bought the land now known as Sundance Resort and envisioned the careful growth of a community committed to the balance of art, nature and community.         Ikon Pass Benefits:  If you're planning to ski at more than one "Ikon" resort this winter, an Ikon Pass may be a better value than the available group lift tickets (see below); it may depend when you buy your pass as prices will increase as winter gets closer.

        • A Full Ikon Pass gives you 7 days at Deer Valley.
        • An Ikon Base Pass has no benefits at Deer Valley.

        Ikon Passes must be individually purchased (not through the club).  You may purchase Ikon Passes directly from Ikon, but we suggest that you visit our Epic & Ikon Pass page to explore the promotional offers that may be available from our tour operators.

        If you'll be using an Ikon Pass, we must provide your pass number to the resort so that it counts towards our group lift ticket minimum purchase requirements.  Please enter your Ikon Pass number into your membership profile before registering for the trip, or provide it to the trip leader if you purchase (or renew) your pass subsequent to signing up.

        Ikon Lift Reservations:  Skiers using an Ikon Pass will be required to make reservations for their ski days by logging into their Ikon Pass account at ikonpass.com.  You should make your reservations as soon as you sign up for the trip as daily space may be limited and could sell out.

        Located at 1550m altitude in a natural conch, nestled between the Brenta Dolomites mountain range and the Adamello and Presanella glaciers, Madonna di Campiglio is one of the most important and well-known ski resorts in the Italian Alps.  Ski on 97 miles of interconnected runs across the three ski areas of Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo and Folgarida-Marilleva.



        Savoia Palace Hotel

        Our trip package includes seven nights (Sat-Sat) in the four-star Savoia Palace Hotel.  Opened in 1886, the Savoia Palace, one of the first hotels in the center of Madonna di Campiglio, has been a focal point in the resort for more than a century.  Today it is run by the Antonioli family, hoteliers for generations, who have created an elegant, welcoming atmosphere, emphasizing traditional Trentino hospitality.   Just a 10-minute walk to the the lifts, our hotel offers an ideal location for our ski holiday in the Brenta Dolomites. 



        Savoia Palace Classic Rooms

        Our "run-of-the-house" block of rooms includes a  mix of the Savoia's Classic, Comfort, and Superior rooms.  Room and hotel amenities include:

        • Safes, desks, and complimentary WiFi
        • Shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries
        • Buffet breakfast served daily from 7:30 to 9:30
        • Restaurant, bar and lounge

        Epic Pass Holders receive seven consecutive days of skiing and riding at Skirama Dolomiti ski resorts (includes Madonna), as is explained on the Epic Pass website.  Instructions for Epic Pass holders are presented on the Skirama Dolomiti website.  Only the "full" Epic Pass is honored.  Epic Day Passes and Military Epic Passes do not provide access to Madonnna. 


        Resort Lift Tickets:  (Updated 10/28/2025)
        Skiers without an Epic Pass will need to buy their lift tickets at the resort.  The prices are quite reasonable:  The         2025-26 ticket office price for a 6-day "High Season" Adult lift ticket is €439 ... and the low season pricing starts on Monday of our ski week.  (The Low Season price for a 6-day pass is €386.)


        Last Night in Venice:  At the end of our ski week, both the Main/Ski-Only Group and the Extension Group will spend our last night (Saturday, March 21) at a hotel in Mestre, near the Venice airport, and fly home on Sunday.  This is to avoid having to get up and leave Madonna so early on Saturday.  Our specific hotel (to be confirmed ~ January 2026) is expected to be either Hotel Antony or the Hilton Garden Inn.

        3-Night Pre-Skiing Extension

        Three nights (Wed-Sat) in a 4-star hotel in Venice with daily breakfast buffet.  Features include:

        • Tuesday, Mar 10 – Overnight flight from Dulles to Venice, with connection in Zurich.
        • Wednesday, Mar 11 – Water taxi transfer from Venice airport to our hotel.
        • Thursday, Mar 12 – Round-trip water taxi transfer from our hotel to St. Mark Square for a guided half-day city tour, including entrance to the Doge's Palace, known for its state-of-art architecture, interior, history, and panoramic views.
        • Friday, Mar 13 – Explore Venice (on your own).  Consider a day trip by train to Bologna or another nearby town, if you have already exhausted what you want to see in Venice.

        Grenada (pronounced Gre-Nay-Dah) is a captivating eco-tourism paradise, nestled in the heart of the Caribbean, where the allure of nature meets the thrill of adventure.  Every moment promises pure adventure, natural splendor, rich heritage, and culinary delights.


        Grenada is an island country of the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea.  The southernmost of the Windward Islands, Grenada is directly south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and about 100 miles north of Trinidad and the South American mainland.


        Our trip includes seven nights in True Blue Bay Boutique Resort.  Located on the south coast of the island, True Blue is a family-owned and operated, climate-smart boutique hotel, offering a Caribbean-chic ambience and a colorful and relaxed tropical atmosphere.  The hotel is a short drive from Maurice Bishop International Airport, St. George’s University, the beautiful white-sand Grand Anse Beach, restaurants, and shops.  It is also well-connected to the rest of the island including the historic town of St. Georges.

        Our trip package includes five days of scuba diving, round-trip airport transfers, and hotel taxes.  It also includes daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  The meal plan includes two-course lunches & dinners (appetizer and main, or main and dessert).  Drinks (non-alcoholic & alcoholic), steak, and lobster are available for an additional charge.

        The resort offers a variety of amenities and activities including an onsite dive shop, yoga studio, spa, restaurant, gym, bakery, four pools, free water sports (kayaking, paddle boarding and Hobie-cat sailing), and free shuttle service to Grand Anse Beach or BBC beach.  Snorkeling is also available at the dive shop for an additional fee.

          Each of our True Blue Rooms features either a king-size bed or twin beds, a compact kitchen equipped with a coffee maker and cooking utensils, a cozy couch, a dining area for two, a TV, a wardrobe, and a recently renovated bathroom with a walk-in shower.  Nestled on the upper side of the resort, these spacious and comfortable Caribbean-style rooms are perfect for us, thanks to their proximity to the dive shop.  Situated on both the ground and upper levels, each room boasts its own unique views.

          Single Rooms:  Listed price is for double occupancy.  Add $550 for the Single Supplement if you want a room to yourself.

          If you're a beach dweller yearning for sun-kissed sands, Grenada has something special to offer.  The island paradise also beckons to those seeking a break from the demands of everyday life.  For this we recommend a laid-back day on the gorgeous, world-famous Grand Anse Beach with a cocktail in-hand.

          Membership Requirement: 

          Your club membership must be current when signing up for the trip and throughout the duration of the trip.  The trip will be "sanctioned" through the Blue Ridge Ski Council:  Current members of other BRSC member ski clubs may register for the trip

          Miscellaneous Trip Information:  

          Currency:  The official currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD).  There are ATM machines on the island to obtain local currency if needed.  Current exchange rate (17 September 2025) is 2.697 XCD/USD.

          Power Outlets:  Genada and the True Blue Bay Resort use a 220v system with UK-style plugs (Type G).  You will need an adapter for our US-style 120v plugs.  You can buy them in Grenada, but recommend that you purchase some before the trip.


          Trip Insurance:   Emergency medical, evacuation & repatriation insurance (not cancellation insurance) is included with your trip.  This is not cancellation coverage and will not provide any relief if you have to cancel from the trip before it begins, whether for medical or other reasons.  You may upgrade the coverage of this Basic Plan to include cancellation insurance by clicking on this link.  It will take you to a flyer describing the Basic Plan and the upgrade options available through Myra Altschuler of Travel Protectors LLC:

          • The Option 2 cancellation plan provides all the benefits of the Basic Plan, but also covers you for cancelling for a number of basic reasons such as illness, injury or death to you or to your traveling companion/ roommate.  You must purchase it within 14 days of putting down your very first dollar towards the trip in order to waive the pre-existing medical condition exclusion.
          • The Option 3 "Cancel For Any Reason" (CFAR) plan provides all the benefits of the Option 2 plan, but also covers you for cancelling for any non-standard reason, or if you just don’t want to go, but you must purchase it within 14 days of putting down your very first dollar towards the trip.  If you cancel your trip for a non-standard reason, your refund will be limited to 75% of your insured trip cost.
          • If you upgrade your coverage with either option through Myra, prior to making your final payment on the trip, we will credit your trip invoice with the $60 cost of the club-provided Basic Plan.

          The PSC is heading to the Caribbean Island of Curaçao!!!  Join us for a week of fun in the sun that includes scuba diving, snorkeling, shopping, relaxing on the beach or pool, and island exploration.


          The "C" in the ABC islands, Curaçao features historic settlements, rugged landscapes and plenty of fun in the sun. (Aruba and Bonaire are the other islands constituting the westernmost islands of the Leeward Antilles). 


          Curaçao, an island country located in the Caribbean Sea, is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.  Geographically, Curaçao is situated in the southern Caribbean, near the coast of Venezuela.  Best of all, this semiarid island is sheltered from the worst of the Atlantic's hurricane season.  Gentle trade winds keep temperatures in the mid-80s, so you can enjoy the outdoors year-round. 


          Curaçao's main port city, Willemstad, is what an old-world European city would look like if it had been dropped it in the Caribbean.  The brightly painted Dutch colonial buildings reflect pinks, yellows and blues into the cerulean St. Anna Bay.  Once you leave the city, the landscape shifts to a desert scene, with spiny aloe and mesquite sprouting from atop weathered limestone cliffs.


          Mambo Beach, Curacao Sunset, and Hiking opportunities

          Curaçao's real draw is the beach.  Picture-perfect bays and coves flank the island, their turquoise waters lapping gently against powdery white sand. Curaçao's reefs teem with marine life, providing excellent underwater playgrounds for scuba divers and snorkelers.

          Located just a short 20-minute drive from Hato International Airport, we will arrive at the beautiful white sandy beach of LionsDive Beach Resort Willemstad.  The resort is located on a spacious yet quiet and shaded private beach, and is part of Mambo Beach, the longest white sandy beach in Curaçao.  Just a few footsteps away we will discover Mambo Beach Boulevard with its wide array of bars, restaurants and shops.  We will also find the Curaçao Sea Aquarium and Dolphin Academy, all within walking distance of the resort.

          Guests are encouraged to explore all there is to offer on the resort, and also the beautiful surroundings, including weekly walking tours on the nearby Salt Pans, and spot flamingos. 

          The resort offers a variety of amenities and activities including an onsite dive shop (Ocean Encounters), a private beach with lounge chairs, four restaurants, two pools, a gym, spa, laundry service, and onsite car rental office.  Snorkeling and diving are available from the beach.

            • Resort View Rooms:  Located amidst the tropical gardens, serene pools, or with scenic street views, these rooms are equipped with one king or two queen beds and have a shared terrace or balcony.  Add $840 for the single supplement if you want a room to yourself.
            • Ocean View Rooms:  Located throughout the resort and featuring partial ocean views, these rooms are equipped with one king or two queen beds and have a shared terrace or balcony.  Add $130 per person for double occupancy or $1090 for the single supplement if you want a room to yourself.
            • Ocean View Deluxe Rooms:  Wake up to breathtaking ocean views in the resort’s new ocean view deluxe rooms.  Featuring elegant interiors and stylish décor, the rooms are equipped with one king or two queen beds and have a private balcony.  Add $335 per person for double occupancy or $1495 for the single supplement.

            • If you purchase your own travel insurance, which includes emergency medical, evacuation & repatriation coverage, and inform your trip leader prior to making your final payment on the trip, we will credit your trip invoice with the $60 cost of the club-provided Basic Plan.  You must present your policy to the trip leader to receive the credit.


            DIVERS ALERT NETWORK (DAN):  It is recommended that all divers on the trip purchase a DAN membership (not included in trip cost).  In case of a dive accident, DAN membership can save you thousands of dollars.  DAN membership alone does not provide coverage for costs of a dive accident; dive accident insurance must be purchased separately for each member if you choose.  Please see the chart and link below for the levels of membership, associated costs, and detailed information about DAN. https://dan.org/

            We’ll confirm your registration after you've signed up (registered) for the trip and we've received your payment:  You may pay online by going to our Partial Payments Page where you can make initial deposits &/or interim payments for one or more trips, and for one or more members, in a single transaction.  You may also make partial payments with credit cards at club meetings.  Note:  If you wish instead to pay for the entire trip (or to pay your remaining balance), you should make your payment directly against your trip invoice.  You can find your invoice(s) from your profile page by selecting your name in the upper right corner of the website when you are logged in.

            If you prefer to pay by check, make it payable to the Pentagon Ski Club and mail it to Tom (our club treasurer) at 8203 Lazy Point Lane, Lorton, VA 22079.  Indicate which trip, and what participant(s), it is for.  Or give it to Tom at a club meeting.
